Let's get one thing out of the way before I start my review. Yes, Sony made a game that is very similar to Nintendo's highly successful Super Smash Bros. series. But honestly, can you blame them? The Smash Bros. series is wildly popular with fans and why wouldn't a company like Sony, that has a large catalogue of characters and games, not want to get in on a piece of that action. Is it a total rip-off? Looking at screenshots you would think so, but once you play the game you realize that there are some differences that help this game stand out on its own.

Earlier this week, 007 Legends from Activision (developed by Eurocom) was released to the public. We have the launch trailer for you today:



As reported previously, the game will feature story levels inspired by six Bond films - Goldfinger, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Moonraker, License to Kill, Die Another Day, and the newest installment to the 007 franchise - Skyfall.

"The team at Eurocom has really outdone themselves this time with 007 Legends, delivering a very unique and comprehensive Bond video game we're sure fans will enjoy playing," said David Oxford, EVP/General Manager, Activision Publishing. "Fans not only get to experience these great, defining moments from Bond's past that have made him the spy he is today, but they also get to become Daniel Craig's modern-day Bond, and play through an all-new, contemporary story mission based on the upcoming SKYFALL film that comes out as DLC. This weekend at the New York Comic-Con, Activision revealed that The Amazing Spider-Man would be making its way to the Wii U in the Spring. The Wii U version will include all for DLC packs for the game out of the box (The Stan Lee Adventure, Rhino Challenge, Lizard Rampage, and Oscorp Search & Destroy Packs).

The port does plan to take advantage of the Wii U's unique capabilities, including making use of the motion control and menu navigation using the controller's touch screen.

Deadpool was present at New York Comic Con this past weekend, and in addition to a video highlighting his appearance at San Diego Comic Con, details about Domino's appearance in the upcoming game were revealed.

  • Dude, no brainer, man. Have you seen pictures of her? She is smokin’ hot. And if that wasn’t enough (it totally is) she also knows how to handle a gun which turns me on. She has a soft spot for pancakes in large volumes, loves blowing things up, knows my GUY (sorry, spoilers!) AND she owes me a date. (there’s the important part) So this is kinda like that: a date. I figure her Mutant power will help her ‘get lucky’ with me. (we see what you did there) Cross your fingers for a happy ending! Did we mention that she is stupid hot?

Spider-Man is back, once more tied in to a major theatrical release. Of course, there has been several Spider-Man games released since the last "movie" game, Spider-Man 3, but each of those departed from the free-roaming format popularized in Spider-Man 2. This is the first film-related Spider-Man game release for Beenox - who first worked on the Spider-Man franchise with 2007s Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, and later went on to take over original development of all future Spider-Man franchise games with Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.

At Gamescom, Activision has unveiled some new details about the upcoming Deadpool game.

According to High Moon Studio's new "chief" Deadpool, who wrote the fact sheet, the game will be a third-person shooter, featuring an array of weapons from various guns, katanas, explosives, and apparently duct tape. He highlighted the contributions of Daniel Way to the game's story (Way has been writing the Deadpool solo title since March, 2009) and a bit of an overly personal life lesson about the dangers of eating spicy food.

Deadpool confirmed that the game would probably not feature a fourth wall of any kind.

This past week, Activision and Eurocom unveiled the third and fourth of five movie-inspired missions that will be a part of their upcoming 007 Legends game.



"The method of picking which James Bond movies to include in 007 Legends was a deep and thoughtful process between Eurocom, Activision, EON and Danjaq," said David G. Wilson, VP of Global Business Strategy, EON. "We took great care in selecting movies that helped define who Bond has become over the years, and ones that could be tied together in a compelling way to pay homage to 50 years of 007."

In 007 Legends' Die Another Day movie-inspired mission, the quintessential secret agent is sent to rendezvous with Agent Jinx to investigate the connection between Gustav Graves - a diamond mogul funding the development of an international space weapon called Icarus - and a North Korean terrorist set on unifying his country once and for all. With Jinx's help, Bond must chase down Graves, racing along ice while dueling against North Korean spies and Graves' allies, all while dodging concentrated blasts of solar energy from the Icarus weapon. After confronting Graves on his high-flying jet, Bond must prevent triggering a war between North and South Korea and escape the stricken jet before it's destroyed.
