    The thread from Canuckistan

Let's begin this baby with a debate about "Harper's Folly"

Its an man-made lake in Huntsville, Ontario that Steve Harper created for $1.5 MILLION to showcase our natural beauty to reporters for the G8/G20 Summits.

Sweet baby Jesus they couldn't just open a ****ing window?

I've been to Huntsville. Don't they already have plenty of spare lakes lying around?

Not to take sides on the issue, but that was a very poorly written article. There was so much actual reporting to do that just went unnoticed. Seemed like a typical hit piece article.

What is the explaination for removing those regulations? They didn't even ask anyone.

What are the details of the regulation? Is there another regulation somewhere that does include that provision still, and it was removed to streamline and eliminate redundancy? What regulations are there? How do those regulations impact emergency preparedness?

I know the parties aren't exactly analogous, but here, the media - particularly the print and television media - frequently posts stories without any background that paint Conservatives in a negative light. This story read exactly like one of those. For a liberal politician, the stories dig and dig in an effort to find something - anything - that will excuse a seemingly inappropriate move.

Not saying the move was excusable, but there were questions to be asked and digging to do. With so much omitted, it feels like a deliberate effort to paint the guy in a bad light.

Wow, I make fun of Canadians often. Though, it's mostly in jest. However, this dude is mad crazy.
